Decor & Window Film
Self-adhesive coverings are a fast way to update tired surfaces, and this d-c-fix range has more than 250 options. It includes window adhesive film in frosted, decorative and static cling types, brick effect and wooden slat film, golden walnut and pearlwood finishes, seidenmatt plain colours and self-adhesive wall tiles in a Cuba Gold design.
For windows, a window adhesive film gives privacy while still letting in light, and static cling styles can be removed and repositioned. For furniture and walls, a woodgrain or tile effect film freshens worktops, cupboard doors and shelves. Widths include 45cm and 67.5cm and lengths run from about a metre upwards, so measure first and allow a little extra.
Clean the surface, remove grease and let it dry fully. Cut the film to size, peel off a little backing and smooth it down with a cloth or squeegee. Avoid stretching the film around corners, as it may lift later. Self-adhesive wall tiles suit splashbacks away from heat and direct water. Try a small piece in an unseen spot first, particularly on painted or papered walls.

Decor & Window Film: frequently asked questions
How do I put window adhesive film on glass?
Clean the glass, spray it lightly with water, apply the film and squeegee out bubbles. Trim the edges.
Can self adhesive film be removed?
It can often be peeled off, but adhesive may leave marks, especially on painted surfaces. Test first.
What is static cling window film?
It sticks by static rather than glue, so it can be repositioned and removed cleanly. It works on smooth, clean glass.
Can I use adhesive tiles behind a hob?
Not near direct heat. Choose a suitable heat resistant splashback material there.
What width roll should I buy?
Pick a roll wide enough to cover the surface in one piece, such as 67.5cm for most worktops.
