Garden & Outdoor: frequently asked questions
What garden jobs should I do in spring?
Spring is the time to sow seeds, feed and repair lawns, weed borders and plant out once frosts have passed. In much of the UK, tender plants are safest outside from mid to late May.
What should I do in the garden in autumn?
Autumn is ideal for planting spring bulbs, scarifying and reseeding lawns, clearing fallen leaves and planting trees and shrubs. It is also a good time to clean, sharpen and store tools.
How do I protect my garden in winter?
Cover tender plants with fleece, move pots to a sheltered spot and raise them on pot feet to stop waterlogging. Keep off frozen lawns to avoid damaging the grass.
Do you deliver bulky garden items and accept returns?
Yes, we deliver across the UK. Standard delivery is £4.99 and free on orders over £50, with Express delivery for £6.99. Unused items can be returned within 14 days.
