Hooks
Hang coats, pictures, mugs and tools with a choice of hooks to suit every wall and hanging job. The range includes coat hooks and hat hooks, picture hooks, cup hooks, suction hooks, utensil hooks, swing hooks and cleat hooks from Securit, Securpak, SupaHome and others.
Cup hooks come in brass, white and zinc plated finishes and are useful for hanging mugs and keys. White cup hooks and white coat hooks blend in on painted surfaces, while brass coat hooks and an antique hat and coat hook add a traditional touch. Brass picture hooks usually come with a pin to knock into plaster, and are sized to hold frames of a given weight.
Choose by load and wall type. Screw in cup hooks bite well into timber, but plasterboard and masonry need a plug or anchor, so pair your hooks with suitable fixings. Check the weight rating on the pack and use more than one hook for large or heavy frames. For tiles and glass, a clear suction hook is a no-drill solution for light items such as a towel or kitchen cloth.

Hooks: frequently asked questions
How do I hang a picture without damaging the wall?
Use a picture hook with a pin suited to the wall and the weight of the frame. For heavy items, use two hooks and check the weight rating.
What size cup hook should I use?
Pick a hook with enough length to screw into the timber and a gap wide enough for the handle. A longer hook holds more.
Can I put coat hooks on plasterboard?
Yes, but use plasterboard fixings and do not overload them. Fix into a stud or batten for heavier coats.
Do suction hooks work on tiles?
On clean, smooth tiles they hold light items. They are not suited to heavy loads or textured surfaces.
What are brass hooks best for?
Brass has a warm finish and resists rust, so it suits interior use in kitchens and hallways. Check the pack for suitable use.
