Oils, Lubricants & Fluids
Keeping moving parts working smoothly saves time and money, and this range covers oils, lubricants and treatments. Browse engine oil, lubricant spray, Carlube oil and spray oil lubricant, plus engine lubricant products from Carlube, Holts, Castrol, Motip and WD-40.
Multi-purpose oil sprays such as 3-IN-ONE and WD-40 free stiff hinges and locks, while copper grease and a spray grease lubricant protect bolts, brake parts and joints. For vehicles there are diesel treatments from Redex, tyre shine and other car care fluids. Engine oil is available in a few grades for popular engines.
Choose engine oil by the grade and specification in your vehicle handbook, and use the right product for the job, since a penetrating oil is not the same as a grease. Apply lubricant sparingly, wipe away excess so dirt does not collect, and keep spray cans away from heat and flame.

Oils, Lubricants & Fluids: frequently asked questions
What engine oil should I use?
Use the viscosity grade and specification listed in your handbook, such as 5W-30 or 10W-40, as stated by the manufacturer.
What is the difference between oil and grease?
Oil is thin and penetrates, while grease is thicker and stays in place for longer-lasting lubrication.
Can lubricant spray be used on locks?
A light spray helps free stiff locks and hinges. Use a graphite or lock-specific product on cylinders where advised.
What is copper grease used for?
Copper grease helps stop threaded parts seizing, and it is often used on exhaust bolts and brake fittings.
How often should I change engine oil?
Follow the service interval in your handbook, usually by mileage or time, whichever comes first.
