Cheshire Mouldings is a major supplier of timber sections, and this range is mostly 2.4m lengths ready to cut. A pine moulding choice includes pine parting bead, pine quadrant 18 x 18mm, twice round 25 x 6mm, PSE sections and D mould profiles, with oak quadrant and light hardwood D moulding for visible finishes.

The range also covers cladding, decking newel post caps, stop chamfered oak newels and acoustic wall panels in grey, so it suits both decorative and practical jobs. Quadrant covers gaps where floors meet skirting, parting bead holds sash windows in place, and D moulding trims edges and covers joints. Check the cross-section dimensions, as the width and thickness are given in millimetres.

For a painted finish, pine is easy to sand and fill. For clear coating, choose oak or a light hardwood and apply stain or varnish. Cut with a fine tooth saw and mitre box, pin or glue in place and fill pin holes before finishing. Buy a little extra length to allow for cutting waste and mistakes.
