Hammerite

Hammerite metal paint is made for protecting and decorating iron and steel. This range includes Hammerite Direct to Rust metal paint, Ultima smooth metal paint, Hammerite brush cleaner and thinners, and Waxoyl rust protection, in tins from 250ml to 5L.

Choose between a Hammerite smooth finish and the classic hammered effect, which hides surface marks on old railings and gates. Hammerite black and black Hammerite paint are favourites for fences, gates and garden furniture, while white Hammerite and white metal paint give a lighter look to doors and pipes. Silver and other colours, such as Wild Thyme and brown, are available for variety.

Hammerite Direct to Rust is designed to go over remaining rust after you remove loose flaking, so you do not always need a separate primer. Wire brush the metal, wipe off dust and grease, and apply two coats, brushing in one direction. Use Hammerite brush cleaner and thinners to clean tools afterwards. Work in a ventilated area, and check the tin for drying and overcoating times, as they depend on temperature.
