Sadolin

Sadolin makes finishes for protecting timber inside and out. This range includes Sadolin Superdec opaque wood protection in satin and white and anthracite, Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain, Sadolin Classic wood protection and Sadolin polyurethane varnish in clear matt and satin.

Sadolin Superdec is an opaque finish that covers the grain with solid colour, which suits doors, window frames and cladding. Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain and Classic Wood Protection are transparent, so the natural grain stays visible, with colours such as mahogany, dark palisander and walnut. If you want a clear coat, Sadolin varnish seals interior and exterior timber without changing its colour much.

Test a small area first, because colour varies with the wood type and number of coats. Strip old flaking finishes, sand, and clean the surface. Apply with a brush along the grain, and avoid working in direct sun or rain. Check the tin for coats, drying times and coverage per litre. Stir the tin before and during use, and clean brushes as directed. Reapply maintenance coats as the finish wears.
