Sika

Sika is a specialist in sealing and bonding, and this range covers products for baths, patios and building work. It includes Sika silicone in the SikaSeal Sanitary Silicone+ range, Sika Integral Waterproofer in 5L, Sika Patio Seal, FastFix All Weather jointing compound in grey and charcoal, a 3 in 1 mix and Stixall Ultra adhesive.

Sika silicone sealant is a standard choice for sealing around baths, basins and showers, where a flexible, water resistant seal is needed. Sanitary Silicone+ in white is for kitchens and bathrooms, and comes in a 295ml cartridge for use with a sealant gun. Patio Seal is used on paving, while FastFix All Weather is a jointing compound for filling the gaps between paving slabs. The integral waterproofer is added to mortar and concrete mixes.

Prepare surfaces by removing old sealant, cleaning and drying the joint, then use masking tape for neat lines and a sealant gun to apply. Smooth the bead with a finishing tool before it skins over. Silicone needs time to cure before getting wet, so follow the instructions for each product. Use only on suitable materials, and ventilate the room.
