Simpson Strong Tie
Simpson Strong-Tie makes connectors for timber and building work, and this range gathers its most used pieces. A Simpson angle bracket comes in light reinforced versions such as 50 x 50, a multi angle bracket 55 x 72 x 30, a stair tread angle and heavy engineered bent straps up to 1000mm, alongside Simpson Strong Tie mini mesh bead and PVCu stop bead for plastering.
A Simpson Strong Tie angle bracket strengthens right angle joints in timber frames, studwork, decking and joinery, using the nail or screw holes provided. Straps tie sections of timber together across a joint, and the multi angle bracket works at a range of angles. The stair tread angle supports treads in staircases. For simpsons hangers and similar connectors, check the model and size against the beam or joist.
Always use the fixings specified by the maker, such as the correct nails or screws, and fill every hole if the load calls for it. Choose light brackets for small frames and heavy-duty versions for structural joints. Where loads are significant or part of a structure, ask a structural engineer or builder for advice on the right connector.
