Superfoil

Superfoil makes reflective insulation products, and this compact range suits small insulation jobs. It includes Superfoil radiator reflector in the Rad-Foam range at 0.6 x 3m, a radiator insulation pack, multifoil insulation at 1.2 x 10m, a garage door insulation kit, reflective bubble insulation, pipe insulation in 7.5m lengths and a reflective vapour barrier membrane.

A radiator reflector is fixed to the wall behind a radiator, with the foil side facing the room, so more heat goes into the room instead of warming an external wall. Cut the sheet to the size of the radiator, and fix with adhesive or tape suitable for foil. Multifoil insulation and bubble foil can line sheds, lofts and roofs, while pipe insulation reduces heat loss and helps protect pipes in cold spaces.

For an insulated garage door, a kit holds foil panels between the ribs of the door. Measure your area and add a little extra for overlaps. Check each product for the intended use, and keep foil away from electrical cables unless the product states it is safe. Wear gloves when cutting, and tape the seams so that the foil forms a continuous layer.
