Youngman

The Youngman telescopic ladder is an aluminium ladder that extends to a working length of 3.2m and collapses down for storage. This collection holds that single product, which suits households that need occasional access to high shelves, loft hatches, gutters and walls without the bulk of a fixed-length ladder.

A telescopic ladder slides out to the height you need and locks each section in place, making it easy to carry and fit into a car boot or a garage corner. Aluminium keeps the weight manageable, though it conducts electricity, so never use it near live cables or overhead power lines. Check the maximum user weight and the standard it meets on the product page before buying.

Before every use, check that each section is fully extended and the locks have engaged, and inspect for dents or damage. Place it on firm, level ground, lean it at about a 1 in 4 angle and keep three points of contact while climbing. Do not overreach, and avoid use in strong wind. If the job is high or awkward, consider a stepladder or hiring a professional.
