Why a flexible back?
A spring steel back lets the blade flex rather than snap if it twists in the cut. That makes it more forgiving in a hand hacksaw than an all-hard blade.
How to fit the blade
- Release the frame tension.
- Fit the blade with the teeth facing forward.
- Tension the frame until the blade is firm.
- Cut with full, even strokes.
