Which one do I need?
Reach for graphite when a key has gone stiff, or as a routine job before winter. Oil and grease attract dust, which is the reason graphite is the better match for a lock.
How to use
- Give a short burst into the keyway.
- Put the key in and out a few times to spread the graphite.
- Turn the lock several times and check it runs freely.
FAQs
Why use graphite instead of oil?
Oil and grease attract dust that can gum up pins and levers, while graphite lubricates without leaving a sticky layer.
What can I use it on?
It is intended for locks, padlocks and cylinders.
