Which one do I need?
A 50mm drywall screw is useful when you are fixing through two layers of board, or through a board and packing, and still need to bite into the frame. If you are hanging a single board onto studs, a shorter screw is usually easier to drive. Hold a screw against the build-up of boards to confirm it will reach the studs with a good margin.
How to use
- Mark the frame positions on the board surface.
- Use a cross bit with a depth-setting holder if you have one.
- Keep the board tight against the frame while you drive.
- Sink each head just below the plasterboard surface for filling.
- Fill, let dry and sand smooth before decorating.
