Which one do I need?
A 40mm screw in a 10 gauge is a sturdy all-rounder for joining boards and fixing small frames, cupboard backs and similar jobs where the material is not too thick. Measure the piece you are fixing through and leave enough length to grip the material behind. The manufacturer notes that the range is fully threaded up to 70mm, with partial thread up to 75mm.
How to use
- Mark the screw positions and clamp the parts so they stay aligned.
- In hardwood, or close to an edge, drill a pilot hole first.
- Use a pozi bit of the right size and keep it square to the work.
- Drive until the countersunk head is just flush, then stop to avoid stripping the thread.
