Securpak Machine Screw and Nut ZP, M4 x 40, Pack of 6

Securpak machine screws and nuts in M4 x 40, zinc plated and sold as a pack of six screws with nuts. The 40mm length gives an M4 fixing more reach, so these suit clamping thicker parts or several layers together.

Key features

• Pack of 6 screws and nuts
• M4 thread
• 40mm long
• Zinc plated

Specifications

Which one do I need?

M4 is the thread diameter, so pair these with M4 nuts or an M4 tapped hole. Choose the 40mm length when shorter M4 screws will not pass through everything you are joining. Add the thickness of all the parts together, then check enough thread will stick out for the nut to grip fully.

How to use

1. Line up the holes in the parts; they must pass an M4 thread.
2. Insert the screw from the side where the head will sit flat.
3. Fit a washer under the nut if the material is soft or thin.
4. Run the nut on by hand, then tighten with a screwdriver while holding the nut.
5. Do not overtighten, especially on plastic parts.
6. Check the joint again once it has been in use for a while and nip up the nut if needed.
