Specifications

Which one do I need?

M5 is the thread size, so the nut and any tapped hole must be M5 as well. The 25 figure is the length. Add up the thickness of the parts being joined and leave a little extra so the nut can be fully engaged on the thread. If you are fixing into a part that is already tapped with an M5 thread, the nut may not be needed at all, and you can keep the spares for another job.

How to use

1. Make sure the holes in each part line up and will pass an M5 thread.
2. Insert the machine screw from the side where the head can sit flat.
3. Start the nut by hand so it runs on straight.
4. Hold the nut with a spanner and tighten the screw with a screwdriver until the joint is firm.
5. Avoid overtightening on soft or thin parts.
