Which one do I need?
Choose an orbital sander like this one when the job is mostly broad, flat surfaces rather than tight corners. Only 1 sheet comes with it, so stock up on sheets in a range of grits: coarse for removing old finish, medium for smoothing and fine for a final pass before painting or varnishing. Being corded, it will run for as long as the job takes.
How to use
- Unplug the sander and fit a sheet so it sits flat and tight on the pad.
- Connect dust extraction to the port if you can.
- Put on a dust mask and eye protection.
- Switch on, then lower the sander onto the surface and move it slowly in overlapping passes.
- Let the weight of the sander do the work, and change to a finer sheet as the surface smooths.
